What it is
Travellers message on WhatsApp and expect a quick answer. A one-person agency can't be on the phone around the clock, so Juno answers first. Her first reply introduces her by name as the advisor's AI assistant, so nobody thinks they are talking to the advisor, and every message she sends is signed ~ Juno.
She handles the everyday questions: destinations, seasons, what a trip involves, and the price ranges the advisor has already published, each labelled a rough guide. Anything that needs the advisor goes to the advisor. That includes a real quote, an existing booking, a complaint, a refund, someone asking for the advisor by name, or anything she is unsure of.
Juno on the Line began as a design in August 2026, under the working name Ada on the Line. It went into production on Beyond YEG's own WhatsApp number in October 2026, and it is offered to other advisors through Travel Tech Guy.
How it works
- A customer writes to the advisor's WhatsApp Business number. Meta delivers the message to a webhook, which accepts only signed requests and records every message before anything else happens.
- Juno drafts a reply from a curated corpus: a list of what she may say about the business, plus its published trips. She can't see anything else, by design. Each draft also says whether the advisor is needed and why.
- A send guard checks every reply. It enforces the introduction on a first contact and the signature on every message. It blocks booking or confirming language and hands that conversation to the advisor instead. It flags every price and date, so prices go out as ranges.
- The advisor gets the conversations that need them as a Telegram message, and Juno tells the customer the advisor will reply.
- The advisor answers from their phone. A reply on Telegram reaches the customer in the same WhatsApp chat, word for word, signed with the advisor's name. After the advisor steps in, Juno stays quiet in that chat for three hours.
- The routine chats arrive as one evening summary, so the advisor's phone isn't buzzing all day.
A personal question about the advisor gets one fixed, polite answer: "Unfortunately, my expertise is restricted to travel business only."
Built with
- Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API, on the advisor's own WhatsApp Business account, with signed webhooks and approved message templates for follow-ups outside WhatsApp's 24-hour window.
- Claude for drafting, returning a structured reply that says whether the advisor is needed.
- A curated corpus built from the advisor's facts and trips by a script that refuses to write it if a private term appears.
- A send guard as a small standalone module that decides and never sends by itself, with a test suite that makes each of its rules fail on purpose.
- Python for the reply service, running as a system service with its credentials loaded at start, plus small scheduled jobs for urgent flags, the evening digest and the advisor's replies.
- Telegram as the advisor's side of the conversation.
- Privacy pages published on beyondyeg.com setting out how WhatsApp messages are handled, stored and deleted.
Where it stands
In production on Beyond YEG's WhatsApp at +1 780-668-5934, open to anyone who writes. Its own page is at traveltechguy.com/juno. Each advisor's Juno is set up with that advisor's own trips, prices and rules, and one advisor's conversations are never shared with another's. It opens to other advisors once Meta has finished reviewing the platform.
